How do I get ChatGPT to recommend my business?

You cannot make it. You can make your business easier to recommend. ChatGPT builds answers from what it finds about businesses: your website, reviews, directories and local mentions.

Make it easy to recommend

  1. State what you do and where on your homepage in one plain sentence.
  2. Have a page for each main service with your area, your hours and how to book.
  3. Keep your business facts matching on every site that lists you.
  4. Earn recent reviews that mention the service and the town.
  5. Ask the same question a customer would, in ChatGPT, once a month, and write down what it says.

FAQ

Do I need special code?

Standard page titles, clear headings and a real address are enough to start. Extra markup can help but is not a shortcut.

What if it names a competitor?

Look at the sources it shows. If your business is missing from them, that is where to start.

Is it the same as ranking on Google?

Not the same. Google says local results rest on relevance, distance and prominence, and that complete, accurate business info and reviews help (support.google.com/business/answer/7091). Clear, consistent facts help in both places, which is our view, not an OpenAI statement.
